Presidential Preference Primary Election, Municipal Primary, Vacancies and Propositions

Mar. 24, 2012 presidential preference primary and municipal primary and April 21, 2012 municipal general

Qualifying period is Dec. 7, 8 and Dec. 9 until 5 p.m.
State candidates qualify in the executive offices of the secretary of state located at 8585 Archives Ave. in Baton Rouge. Secretary of State's Office hours are 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Local and municipal candidates qualify with the clerk of court in the parish in which they are registered to vote. Contact your local clerk of court for office hours.

Early voting is Mar. 10-17 (except Sunday, March 11) from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. for the March 24 presidential preference primary and municipal primary election.
Early voting is April 7-14 (except Sunday, April 8) from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. for the April 21 municipal general election.

Nov. 6, 2012 open primary/congressional/presidential; Dec. 1, 2012 open general/congressional:

Campaign Finance Reports, Lobbyists and Political Action Committees

Campaign Finance Reports which include reports from incumbent statewide elected officials are available for online viewing on the Louisiana Ethics Administration's website. In addition, lists of registered lobbyists and political action committees are available.
The Federal Elections Commission has copies of actual financial disclosure reports filed by House, Senate and presidential campaigns, parties and PACs from 1993 to the present.
