Welcome to Louisiana's 2012 Presidental Mock Election

Secretary of State Tom Schedler is pleased to announce a partnership with Cox Communications, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana and the Old State Capitol Foundation to host the Louisiana 2012 Presidential Mock Election allowing students across our state to learn about the democratic process as they cast their online vote for president.

Mock Election K-12 Curriculm - GeauxVote Smart! has all the materials you need to make Election 2012 teachable, relevant and exciting for your students. Our standards-based, K-12 educational materials build student knowledge and skills; connect classroom learning to current events; and increase the civic engagement of students. 

School Coordinator Packet - This packet provides detailed information about the Mock Election.

School Coordinator Registration and Voting Guide - This guide provides step-by-step instructions for accessing the Mock Election regsitration and voting portal.

GeauxVote Video Contest - The GeauxVote Video Contest is designed to allow student video buffs the opportunity to film a 30 second "Geaux Vote" spot whcih will appear on YouTube!

STATEWIDE MOCK ELECTION RESULTS:

Approximately 88,600 K-12 students from 280 schools in 55 of 64 parishes cast a vote in the mock election.

OBAMA - 51.29%

ROMNEY - 48.71%
