Louisiana State Archives

The Louisiana State Archives is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

 The Louisiana State Archives is currently celebrating the 100th anniversary of the 19th amendment with an exhibition called "Geaux Vote, Louisiana!" This exhibit explores and celebrates women's suffrage and the history of women in Louisiana politics. For questions regarding visiting the Louisiana State Archives, please call 225-922-1000.

The Archives Research Library is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the first Saturday of the month from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Access to archival material ends at 3 p.m. (First Saturday is cancelled for July due to the July 4th holiday). Patrons are encouraged to schedule an appointment in advance of your visit by calling 225-922-1208.  

In accordance with public health guidelines due to COVID-19, all visitors to the Louisiana State Archives must wear a mask, and social distancing will be strictly enforced. No groups larger than 50 will be allowed at this time.
