programs

The Secretary of State's Office offers many services and educational materials to organizations throughout the state.

Requested services may be conducted in conjunction with one another.

Private Elections

The Voter Outreach Division conducts private elections for schools and organizations at no charge. Examples of private elections include student government and homecoming queen elections. The AVC Edge voting machines (like those used for early voting) are used to conduct the elections. These elections are subject to the availability of staff and voting machines. Staff will deliver the machines and stay for the duration of the election to operate the machines.

Private elections may also be coordinated and/or conducted in conjunction with the local Clerk of Court's Office and/or Registrar of Voters' Office.

A request for an election must be submitted two weeks prior to the election date. However, please note that during our peak season (August, September, October, March, April, and May) our schedule fills quickly. Therefore, during this time we recommend requests be submitted ten to twelve weeks prior to requested date as dates are reserved on a first come, first serve basis. The organization’s name, contact information and the date and time for the election must be specified. To request private election services, please complete the contact form.

NOTE: If a school or organization is interested in conducting an election using paper ballots or the larger AVC Advantage voting machines (like those used on election day), please contact the Voter Outreach Division. In addition, please note that these services are provided at a cost and are subject to availability.

Voting Machine Demonstrations

The Voter Outreach Division presents voter machine demonstrations for schools and organizations at no charge. The Edge voting machines are used to conduct the demonstrations. These demonstrations are subject to the availability of staff and voting machines. Staff will deliver the machines and stay for the duration of the demonstration to operate the machines.

Demonstrations may also be coordinated and/or conducted in conjunction with the local Clerk of Court's Office and/or Registrar of Voters' Office.

A request must be submitted two weeks prior to the demonstration date. However, please note that during our peak season (August, September, October, March, April, and May) our schedule fills quickly. Therefore, during this time we recommend requests be submitted ten to twelve weeks prior to requested date, as dates are reserved on a first come, first serve basis. To request a voting machine demonstration, please complete the contact form.

NOTE: If a school or organization is interested in conducting a demonstration using the larger AVC Advantage voting machines (like those used on election day), please contact the Voter Outreach Division. In addition, please note that these services are provided at a cost and are subject to availability.
