Certificates or ID Cards
The governor makes appointments to various boards and commissions, as well as state departments and the legislature. The Secretary of State Commissions Division issues commission certificates for these appointees and maintains records of the appointments and resignations. The commission certificates are then forwarded to the Governor's Office who mails them out.
The Commissions Division is responsible for sending the commission certificates to all elected officials.
Elected and appointed officials are issued an ID card upon receipt of their signed and notarized oath of office form with our office. The ID cards are mailed to the address on the oath form. If lost, a replacement ID card may be obtained, the cost is $3 each.
