Certification of Voting Systems

La. R.S. 18:1353 requires the secretary of state to promulgate uniform rules and regulations with respect to matters pertaining to the certification standards and requirements of voting systems. Please see the administrative rules adopted per this statute and the Louisiana Administrative Code on March 20, 2025.

La. R.S. 18:1361 lays out the requirements for certification of voting systems to be used in Louisiana.

Opportunities for testing for certification against Louisiana's voting system standards will be available on the following dates in 2025:
July 28 - August 1, 2025,
August 25 - 27, 2025,
September 8 - 12, 2025,
and September 15 - 19, 2025.
Testing will occur at the Old Governor's Mansion located at 502 North Blvd. Baton Rouge, LA 70802. Public notice will be provided on this website at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled testing.
