Certification of Voting Systems

La. R.S. 18:1353 requires the secretary of state to promulgate uniform rules and regulations with respect to matters pertaining to the certification standards and requirements of voting systems. Please see the administrative rules adopted per this statute and the Louisiana Administrative Code.

La. R.S. 18:1361 lays out the requirements for certification of voting systems to be used in Louisiana.

Public demonstrations of voting systems and system components being tested against Louisiana's voting system standards will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on the following dates, unless otherwise noted:

  • August 26: Hart InterCivic Verity Vanguard 1.0 Voting System
  • September 9: Clear Ballot ClearVote Voting System
  • September 11: ES&S EVS 6.5.0.0 Voting System
  • September 15: Democracy Live Omni Ballot Tablet (9-10:30 a.m.)
  • September 16: Dominion Voting Systems Democracy Suite 5.20 Voting System
  • September 18: VotingWorks VxSuite 4 Voting System

All public demonstrations will take place at the Louisiana Old Governor’s Mansion, located at 502 North Blvd. in Baton Rouge.
